Tentative Programme

OBJECTIVE OF THE WORKSHOP

  • To identify main lessons from the decade of experiences with SRI in India.
  • To suggest strategies for the coordinated spread of SRI in India, opportunities for food security and for the buffering of climate change.
  • To identify key research gaps in knowledge on SRI, supporting for all-India co-ordinated research effort.
  • To provide vision and direction for the future expanded utilization of SRI methods with specific policy interventions.

22nd December 2010

  • Field Visit to SRI Fields at Jangoan, Warangal District (about 80 km from Hyderabad).
  • Garuda motorised weeder demonstration will be conducted by M/s. Premier Power Equipments & Products Pvt. Ltd., Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu during the visit.
  • Departure at 7 am from ICRISAT campus and Return to HYD by 4.30 pm.

  1. Please note that this is power point presentation (ppt) free workshop! So, it is appreciated, if you make oral presentation / interaction.
  2. Participants will be dropped near the railway station at Secunderabad and at the Shamshabad Airport on the way back from the Field visit on 22nd Dec., as per their advance request.
