Round Table Discussion

Status of SRI in India

Upscaling strategy and global experience sharing

Date: 3rd March 2011, Venue: Central Library, IARI, New Delhi

The issues of sustainable food security assume national importance, as the country is debating on the crucial National Food Security bill. Breaking yield barrier, accelerating growth of production and ensuring sustainability are the critical policy concerns in Indian Agriculture. The system of rice intensification is one of the innovative practices of rice cultivation that increases productivity in a sustainble way, which is gaining acceptance of the farmers, particularly of the vulnerable section. In order to gain more insights and improve understanding, a round-table discussion on Status of SRI in India, upscaling strategy and global experience sharing was organized on 3rd March 2011 (2:00 pm to 5:30 pm) at the Central Library, IARI, New Delhi.

Here are the proceedings, photos, presentations and papers from the Round Table discussion.
